Dean oliver

Interim pastor worship and music ministries

Dean Oliver brings over 30 years of ministry experience into the role of Interim Worship Pastor.  After graduating from Georgia State University with a Bachelor of Music Education and Southwestern Baptist Seminary with a Master of Divinity, he served churches in Georgia, Texas, Virginia, Tennessee, and North Carolina.  Though he pastored churches for 10 years, his greatest enjoyment has come from being a Worship Pastor, where he has served in a variety of settings from Traditional to Modern worship, and everything in between.  He is also the Founder,  Executive and Musical Director for the 55-voice Georgia Worship Choir which is a community choir for people who belong to churches without a choir ministry.

Dean is a native of Buford, Ga.  His wife, Robine, is a Nurse Manager at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, and together they have two children: Evan, a first year law student in Brooklyn, NY and Jenna, who lives and works in Atlanta.

In addition to ministry and his leadership of the Georgia Worship Choir, Dean enjoys working on his commercial real estate business, reading, writing, biking, videography, watching movies and sports, trout fishing or doing anything else in the mountains.  His favorite food is steak, his favorite drink is Dr. Pepper, and he can’t decide between peach or strawberry cobbler as his favorite dessert.  But he will always welcome samples of each to help him decide.
